The Meaning Behind the Name

The word "lunada" refers to a cherished Mexican tradition where people gather under the moonlight, often around a bonfire, to engage in meaningful conversations. This tradition emphasizes the value of sharing stories, reminiscing about life experiences, and fostering deep connections.

In a lunada, the atmosphere is typically reflective. The conversations might include storytelling, sharing personal anecdotes, or discussing life lessons. This practice underscores the importance of communal support and the healing power of expressing oneself in a safe, supportive environment.

Lunada Therapy builds on this tradition by recognizing and harnessing the therapeutic benefits of such gatherings. It acknowledges how sharing personal stories and experiences in a nurturing setting can contribute to emotional well-being and strengthen bonds among participants. Essentially, Lunada Therapy is about creating a safe space where people can open up, reflect, and connect, drawing on the rich cultural heritage of the lunada tradition.
